Summary
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional contract specialist providing direct oversight of the contractual procurement process to ensure financial and technical compliance with acquisition and procurement strategy throughout contract execution. Basic Qualification Requirements for Contracting Officer Positions: In addition to meeting the basic educational requirement as well as the requirements above, applicants must have: 1) At least two years of experience in contracting positions; and 2) Completed all contracting courses required for a contracting officer for positions at the level and grade at which the person is serving. Certification at this level is sufficient to meet this standard. Duties
You will determine and influence the contracting policies, strategies, and award decisions by leading the development and execution of acquisition, contracting, and agreements strategies.You will lead interdisciplinary teams of experts in engineering, logistics, finance, law, contracting, and other career fields, to provide innovative, best-value solutions to complex contracting problems.You will conduct pre-proposal conferences as appropriate with qualified contractors.You will hold discussions and negotiations with the sources in order to arrive at mutually agreeable contract prices or terms.You will prepare and review acquisition plans and submit to program personnel and the program manager.
