Duties
The United States Space Force (USSF) Combat Forces Command (CFC) Mission Delta 3 (MD3) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado is searching for a Lead Cyber Specialist (NH-2210-03). Description: As a dynamic IT Operations Lead and Senior Systems Administrator, you drive mission success by orchestrating a high-performing team of IT specialists and translating strategic vision into actionable technical milestones. Serving as a crucial advisor to the MD3 Command Staff, you spearhead enterprise-level IT enhancements, resolve complex infrastructure challenges, and engineer innovative solutions that optimize business capabilities. By blending forward-looking technology acquisition with rigorous Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, you continuously fortify the organization's security posture and ensure seamless, secure operations across all systems. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing secure WAN/LAN networks, evaluating emerging security methods, and executing Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs) across critical mission platforms to lead and optimize your complex IT operations. They possess a deep technical expertise that bridges the gap between advanced systems analysis and tactical operational needs, ensuring seamless application integration while proactively aligning technology with future organizational demands. Fully cleared with an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and a proven track record in high-stakes, classified environments-including recent JWICS experience-this candidate delivers the disciplined leadership and technical authority required to safeguard and advance your mission-critical assets. Key Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of IT systems analysis and applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems and applications software projects; and to design, write, test, debug, and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure in the database environment. Knowledge of operational activities (such as special operations, personnel recovery, airlift, etc...), weapon systems, command, control, and mission process, systems, and applications. Knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs and to measure system performance and/or extend operating system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations. Knowledge of IT management information systems requirements and application software development techniques required in carrying out project assignments of considerable difficulty and with little specificity regarding approach to be followed. Ability to maintain and up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization. Extensive knowledge, successful experience and ability to manage Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN) network operating systems, system security, configuration control, system accreditation, system certification, TEMPEST, Information Assurance, network susceptibilities, network vulnerabilities and AIS risk management processes. Includes knowledge required of the chain-of-command, military, and national agencies structures. Knowledge and successful experience processing and executing Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs) through various operational channels and mission platforms (e.g., TMT, IKE, WARPCORE) to ensure compliance and mission readiness.
