Summary
This is an Interdisciplinary position that can be filled by the 0801 (General Engineering), 1301 (General Physical Science), 1515 (Operations Research, 1520 (Mathematics), or the 1550 (Computer Science) series. The series that the selected applicant will be placed into depends on their qualifications. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12 and GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist providing expert advice and guidance in combat systems engineering and integration. Examples of experience may include leading a team of scientists and engineers to perform the requirements development, architecture development, evaluation and assessment of combat system baselines leading to certification; developing and executing project plans that meet customer requirements and resource constraints; performing engineering assessments; performing configuration management audits; performing configuration management planning; performing configuration management change control; execution of performance management activities; or mentoring junior employees. Duties
You will serve as the V51 Branch Head by providing effective professional and technical leadership to a diverse, multi-disciplinary workforce consisting of scientists, engineers, and technicians by executing supervisory administrative functions.You will establish an effective and productive climate and culture, perform strategic planning, implement a strategic vision and oversee its execution, and execute disciplined portfolio and financial management.You will develop, foster, and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with key sponsors, stakeholders, program managers, program directors, and other government and contractor organizations.You will promote a culture of technical excellence, professionalism, mentoring and guidance, workforce development, administrative compliance, continuous improvement, cross-organizational collaboration, and mission-based commitment.You will provide and apply expert technical knowledge of Navy and Joint Warfare Systems concepts, requirements, design, modeling, and simulation.
